Anchorette came to Iyengar Yoga after a friend dragged her to a class about 15 years ago, whilst being a fervent practitioner of Chinese and later Japanese martial arts. The Iyengar Yoga class turned out not to be boring at all! Because of the overwhelming range of Yoga styles available she decided to partake in at least six try-out lessons of different styles of Yoga to investigate which type suits her best. This made her to discover that Iyengar Yoga is the way for her because of its clear, no-nonsense and practical approach. The alignment taught is what she reaps most benefits of in her daily life, including the spiritual clear-mindedness that comes as a result. She finds the complete focus and concentration that Iyengar Yoga requires and elicits a great reset to go inward. It helps her also in her Zen Buddhist practice that she’s kept simultaneously for the past 15 years.
In Iyengar Yoga we build on our foundation to age gracefully and with as little problems as possible. Iyengar Yoga offers tools for the inevitable and unexpected physical and mental challenges we face in this process. How wonderful!
