I am a prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher, at Thrive I teach prenatal and restorative yoga classes.
My main focus when teaching is to create a safe and encouraging atmosphere where everyone can explore their own level of comfort and perhaps discover something new about their bodies. Through my work as a doula and as a midwife by training, I am passionate about supporting women through all aspects of life-changing events.
My restorative classes are suitable for people recovering from injuries, who want a very slow practice to clear their heads and reconnect with their bodies. My prenatal yoga classes are suitable from the second trimester onwards, for a slow and safe practice focusing on breath work and releasing stress.
I think body awareness is particularly important during pregnancy. I truly believe that understanding what is happening in your changing body and actually experiencing these changes through movement can have a huge impact not only on the birthing process itself, but also on how you experience the transition to motherhood.
