Jorinde has been teaching class at Thrive Yoga since 2014. She started with yoga when she was 20 and took her first vinyasa yoga training in 2012. During the first training, she found her teacher and mentor Anat Geiger, and in the following years Jorinde followed all parts of the functional yoga training of then Yogagarden, now The Functional Yoga Teacher Training. After that she followed training with Paul & Suzee Grilley, the founders of the functional approach and yin yoga, among others. In 2018 Jorinde became part of the Teacher Training Team at Thrive Yoga.
Yoga is an integral part of Jorinde's daily life. Before her children came into the world in 2016 and 2020, she was in the studio with Anat and in the Bikram yoga room several times a week. After the arrival of the children, yoga became even more of a 'home practice' and a daily practice of conscious breathing, loving kindness, discipline and surrender. Yoga outdoor the mat became a greater commitment and yoga on the mat a wonderful place of rest and 'gathering'.
Jorinde's classes is functional, which means that every person's unique body is optimally reflected in the class. It is not about striving for a picture of a posture in the head, but learning to empathise with the body. With asana, breathing techniques and meditation, you learn to strengthen the inner observer in yourself. With a resilient body, a clear mind and a relaxed heart, you connect to a greater awareness and inner joy.
